Peer Review Process

When a manuscript is submitted to Biological Data, the editorial team first checks if it’s a good fit. They look at:

  • How interesting and timely the topic is
  • Whether it uses proper scientific methods
  • How clearly it’s written
  • How relevant it is to the journal’s readers

If the manuscript passes this initial check, it goes to peer review. Reviewers are chosen based on their expertise and reputation. They must also declare any conflicts of interest that could affect their judgment.

Type of Peer Review

Peer review helps ensure that published articles are high-quality, valid, and original. Biological Data uses the Double-Blind Review method.

Double-Blind Review

  • Neither authors nor reviewers know each other’s identity.
  • This helps reduce bias based on gender, nationality, or reputation.
